Georgetown University Multi-Sports Facility

The University had begun this challenging project twice before, with different sports architects. In both cases, the scope of the project had apparently grown beyond the extremely tight urban character of the project site.
The third time around, Georgetown University took the time to select a consultant team that could appreciate the functional requirements of a Division I athletic program, but would respectfully blend those requirements with the unique character of the campus.
SportsPLAN Studio produced a program of space requirements and functional diagrams to guide the design time with regard to stadium design issues. We calculated spectator sightlines, and we then produced plans, details and specifications for the stadium grandstands and locker rooms for Football, Lacrosse, Field Hockey and Soccer teams.
