Utah Winter Sports Park 2002 Olympic Winter Games

Utah Winter Sports Park 2002 Olympic Winter Games
Our work with SLOC and the venue planning team was an enjoyable encore following our experiences with the 1996 Olympic Games.

SportsPLAN Studio principal, Joel Leider directed the architectural and site programming effort to begin to prepare the Utah Winter Sports Park for five events at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

The program includes a media compound and broadcast facilities, transportation and venue operations facilities, judges’ and officials’ facilities, a dignitary lodge and amenities for as many as 30,000 spectators expected to visit the Park each day during the Games.

Our site programming work included conceptual planning for temporary stadium grandstands and sponsor suites to be erected on the side of the mountain.
