Texas Tech University Football and Track Facilities Master Plan

The team of Marmon Mok and SportsPLAN Studio was selected by Texas Tech University to design a new indoor practice facility. When the Athletic Department decided more substantial improvements were necessary, the scope of our work grew to include an indoor practice facility, a new indoor track facility capable of hosting the NCAA indoor national championship, improvements to Jones AT&T Stadium and complete refurbishment of the existing football training facility.
The facilities were configured to create an exciting new public plaza. A new student athlete dining hall will open on one side to the plaza, and on the other to the stadium. On game day, the dining hall will be used as a stadium club lounge for hundreds of VIPs and guests. The new configuration will further integrate athletic facilities and the campus.
SportsPLAN Studio programmed all the new facilities, conducted sightline studies for new premium seating in the stadium, provided functional planning for team support facilities and configured a proposed new 200-meter hydraulically-banked competition track. Final products of the work in this phase include illustrations, cost estimates, and strategic plans with which the Athletic Department has launched a capital campaign.
