Virginia Tech Jamerson Center Addition

The design-build process was new for the University, and SportsPLAN Studio has been a valuable guide and consultant. Getting a quality program and RFP done so quickly was key to a successful start.

Virginia Tech selected SportsPLAN Studio in September, 2008 to prepare a comprehensive program statement, site plan, conceptual design and design/ build criteria package for a 42,000 SF addition to the Jamerson Center. We completed that phase of the work in less than 90 days.

During the design/build competition phase of the work, SportsPLAN Studio prepared a detailed manifest, budget and purchasing guide for all Ownerprovided equipment and furnishings.

After selecting the design/build team of Barton Malow/HOK to advance the project, the University’s office of Facilities Planning and Construction retained SportsPLAN Studio to make regular construction site visits, approve change orders and pay applications and to assist the University in the project closeout.
